– Presenting a new yeonhui performance grounded in traditional philosophy
– Reinterpreting the “Legend of Daowonkyung” through yeonhui
In an old legend, a fisherman crossing a river discovers a cave leading to another world—where immortal-like beings dwell and light and joy abound. This is the tale of Dowon-gyeong. What if there were a Dowon-gyeong for traditional Yeonhui? Perhaps a place where ancient performances and long-desired ideals remain. Through this work, we open that vision and present Yeonhui-gyeong, the Dowon-gyeong of traditional performance.

Nolplus is a creative performance group that views “sound” as a form of encounter, crafting new Yeonhui through diverse meetings. Drawing inspiration from ancient legends, myths, and folktales, we reinterpret them in contemporary contexts. While preserving the essence of tradition, we experiment with forms free from convention, shaping performances that embody the sensibilities of today.
